Enrolment at St Brigid's

As a Catholic School, our Catholic faith underpins all our actions. St Brigid's Primary School promotes a learning community where all aspects of education are nourished. We strongly value the notion of partnership in education, encouraging families to actively work with the school to meet every child’s needs.

Catholic primary schools in the Diocese of Lismore use the following order of priority for enrolment:

  1. Baptised Catholic children of Catholic families from within the parish/region.
  2. Children of Catholic families from within the parish/region. Children of other-than-Catholic families who currently have or have had siblings within the school (including children of employees of the Diocese of Lismore).
  3. Other-than-Catholic children transferring from another Catholic school, first from within the Diocese of Lismore, then from other Catholic Dioceses.
  4. Children who access parish early childhood services.
  5. Children are recommended for consideration by the Parish Priest.
  6. Children of other-than-Catholic families who are open to and supportive of the spiritual and religious possibilities offered by a Catholic school.

Children enrolling into kindergarten must turn five years of age on or before 31 July of the year of commencement. All children must be in compulsory schooling by their sixth birthday. Students are expected to start school at the beginning of the academic year.

The continued provision of quality Catholic Education for all students at St Brigid's Primary School requires that all parents assume responsibility for the payment of school fees and levies as they fall due. Parents accept this responsibility upon their child's enrollment at St Brigid's Primary School.

However, understanding the values underpinning this policy, the school makes provision for families experiencing genuine financial hardship to negotiate a payment option that is mutually acceptable to both the family and the school. These negotiations are strictly confidential.

Fees are set each year by the Parish Finance Council in consultation with the Principal. They will be adjusted annually to reflect rises in the CPI or school costs.

St Brigid's Primary School fees consist of various components that are charged over the year in Terms 1, 2 and 3.
