Supporting Every Child
At St Brigid’s, we celebrate the uniqueness of every learner and recognise that all children grow and thrive in different ways. As part of our ongoing commitment to inclusive education, we value the richness that neurodiversity brings to our school community. Whether a child is neurodivergent or neurotypical, understanding diverse ways of thinking, learning, and experiencing the world helps us support them more effectively. To assist families in deepening their understanding and building practical strategies, we’re pleased to share a selection of upcoming webinars designed to empower parents and carers. These sessions cover a range of topics relevant to supporting neurodiverse learners at home and in partnership with school.
ADHD: This short course was developed with the help of Parents for ADHD Advocacy Australia (PAAA). This course is aimed at supporting the parents and carers of children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Other people may also find it helpful, such as other relatives, teacher assistants, and teachers.
Autism: This short course is directed at parents and carers of children with autism. Other people may also find it helpful, such as other relatives, teacher assistants, and teachers.
Parents of children who’ve been identified on the autism spectrum have been interviewed to identify the issues that concern them the most. This is reflected in the videos throughout this short course.
Please find more information about the courses on the OLT platform linked here.
Catholic School Parents Australia is facilitating a free webinar for parents, 'Strengthening Young People Against Anxiety', with Karen Young, Australia's leading expert on child and adolescent anxiety. Register via the link on this flyer.
